Nil Novau, a PhD student in Biomedicine at URV, is researching the connection between gut microbiota and Alzheimer's disease. In a monologue titled "Alzheimer's: the gut speaks and the brain listens", he explained how intestinal bacteria can influence brain function and contribute to the development of neurodegenerative diseases. His presentation earned him second place in the interuniversity contest "Present Your Thesis in 4 Minutes." The research, conducted within the NuMeh group at the Tecnatox center, aims to develop future strategies to prevent symptoms before they become irreversible.
